C. Athena Wilford

The MDAA is pleased to announce C. Athena Wilford as our RDA of the Month for October! 

Following her graduation from Red River College in 1993, Athena worked as a Dental Assistant Level 2.  Athena then became a Registered Dental Assistant in General Dentistry, Pediatric Dentistry and Oral Surgery.

Athena returned to Red River in 2007, this time as an An Instructor and Coordinator for the Red River College Winkler Campus Dental Assisting Program.   It is here where she had the opportunity to travel with the students from her Dental Assisting Program, along with dentists, medical and pharmaceutical professionals to Guatemala to provide health care to Guatemalan rural communities.   Most recently she was part of a team that provided dental care to women in Xela Guatemala prison.

The mission partnership that continued for over 10 years provided not only care for those in need, but provided a wonderful opportunity for Red River College Dental Assisting Students, that Athena is grateful to have been part of.
