Heather Brownlee - RDA

President - Heather has been a Dental Assistant for 32 years, with the last 25 of them at the University of Manitoba Dental College. Her current positon is Co-Ordinator of Central Sterilization.

Heather served on the previous Winnipeg Dental Assistants Association in many capacities. She was also very active in the Manitoba Dental Assistants Association before having children. Now that they are grown up, she is actively involved again. Heather is now our 2012 President of MDAA board of directors. "I have found the MDAA to be a fun and rewarding part of my career and hope to continue being actively involved with the board".
 
 
 
 
 Sina Allegro-Sacco - RDA

 
Vice-President - Sina graduated from Dental Assisting at Red River community College in 1976. Sina worked in private practice for several years before obtaining her orthodontic module and worked in Orthodontics for several years. Sina has been working at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Manitoba for the past twenty years as Implant Coordinator. Sina has been married for 34 years and has two daughters. Sina is looking forward to her role as the Vice-President on the Manitoba Dental Assistants Association.
 
 
 
 
 
 
  Joanne Gilbert - RDA

 
Past President - Joanne graduated from the RRC Dental Assisting Program in 1974 and later obtained her Orthdontic Module.

Since graduation, she has worked in general practice, periodontal practice (both in Winnipeg and Oakville, Ontario) and the University of Manitoba - Graduate Orthodontic Department. Since 1992, she has worked for the Winnipeg Orthodontic Group as an Orthodontic Dental Assistant.

Joanne served as the MDAA President from January 2010 to January 2012. She is also a Past President of WDNAA and served as the MDNAA representative on the MDA Board of Directors.
 
 
 
   Janet Neduzak - RDA

Director and MDAA Rep. on the CDAA Board of Directors - Janet graduated in 1984 from Keewatin Community College. She has been actively working as an RDA until just recently where she accepted full time employment from RRC, Winkler Campus as an instructor in the Dental Assisting Program.

While in private practice, Janet chairside assisted, scheduled and assisted patients for treatment in the OR and established and maintained the pedo recare system within her office. She spent extensive time providing dental education to schools, hutterite colonies and working together with the RHA doing pre-school screening. As a member of Dr. Warkentin's dental team for 22 years, she participated in the "Quest continuing education program" and is a graduate of the L.D. Pankey Institute in Miami, Florida for advanced dental education.
 

 
 Michaela Kissova - RDA

Director - Michaela graduated from Dental Assisting in 2003 with honors from Red River College. She has taken the Scaling Module as well as the Orthodontic Module and is a member of the MDA's Peer Review Committee for Dental Assistants.

Michaela worked in a General Practitioner's office for 4.5 years and is presently a Dental Assisting Instructor at CDI College, which fuels her passion for education. She is also a part time student at the University of Manitoba focusing on education.

Michaela is an avid participant and volunteer for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and enjoys volunteering for the Teddy Bear picnic and dental related events.
 
 
 
 
 
    Artiom Margolin - RDA

 
Director - Artiom moved to Winnipeg in 2007 in search for a brighter future. He graduated with honours from Dental Assisting Program from CDI College in 2010. During his time in college, he developed a keen interest in oral health and is currently advancing his education as a full time student in University of Winnipeg while casually working in general practice.

In his spare time Artiom enjoys leading healthy lifestyle, biking and spending time with his family
 

 
 
 
 Marianne Wagner - RDA

 
 
 
Director - Marianne graduated from Dental Assisting in 1984 from Red River College. She has worked in private practise since then. In 2009 she had the pleasure of instructing at CDI College. She currently works part-time with Dr. Gavin Steidl. Marianne has many years of experience and hopes to enjoy a few more years working in the dental field.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Angelina DiSanto - RDA

Director - Angelina graduated from the Dental Assisting Program in 1978 from Tec Voc and Red River College. She has worked for 32 years at the Health Sciences Centre Adult Dental and Oral Surgery Department; she has been a supervisor there for the last 30 years. The department focusses on special needs and medically compromised patients and provides a home for one of four post graduate oral surgery programs in Canada. She is a member of the Oral Health Standards Committee for the WRHA. The educational activities of the department and the unique challenges of the work have provided her with a wide range of experience in dental assisting.

 
 Athena Lacroix - RDA

 
MDAA representative to the MDA Board of Directors - Athena attended and graduated Dental assisting level II at Red River College in 1992. She has worked in a general practice and oral surgery practice over the past 20 years until 2008, Athena accepted a full time position as Coordinator/instructor at Red River College, Winkler Campus.

Athena has been passionate about patient care and the importance of the oral health team. How the simple rule "Do onto others as you would have them do unto you." has been the main focus of her life for many years.
